Tuesdays, Scottsdale's New Sunday?

With the recent addition of new Tuesday promotions by venues like Cream Stereo Lounge, Upper Deck, The Lodge and Devil's Martini Old Town, Tuesday Nights in Scottsdale are better than ever.  These places, however, ought to pay homage to the originators of Tuesday nights.

Pink Taco, with the help of Brian Durkee (or perhaps we should switch the nouns in that statement), started Tuesdays as we know it over 3 years ago with the infamous "Twisted Tuesday" promotion.  Acme, Dos Gringos and Salty Senorita jumped on board with promotions like "Tuesday Boozeday" and "Tijuana Tuesdays" shortly thereafter, promotions that helped turn a quiet night in Scottsdale into a reputable party night.

In recent times the night had been dominated by Dirty Pretty who stole Durkee from Pink Taco when they first opened 2 years ago.  After Durkee left, Dirty Pretty's "Industry Night" continued to dominate by stocking their bar full of familiar faces, using different promoters and hosting various special events/performances.

Devil's Martini Old Town was the first bar this summer to launch a full fledge Tuesday night.  The promotion, much like the new management, was short lived and the doors only opened twice.  Perhaps the competition from Dirty Pretty and Cream Stereo Lounge, who launched the following Tuesday, was too great.

Cream Stereo Lounge's "Loaded Tuesdays" have a pretty stacked promotion featuring $3 beers, $4 drinks, $100 bottles and music by DJ Circle.  They pack the place with local industries and staff parties and have special guest bartenders every week.  If you are not looking for bottle service and/or loud music, head towards The Lodge or Upper Deck.

Both places have Tuesday night promotions full of beer pong and bags.  The Lodge's drinking game tournaments take place every other Tuesday and challenge partners in games ranging from Huge Jenga to Buck Hunter.  Upper Deck's new Tuesday promotion "Carpe Diem" has a similar laxed atmosphere focused on beer pong and TV.  Both places offer a welcome retreat for bar goers looking to sit down with their favorite draft beer.
